UK Life: 8 September - 26 November

Ryan has been bugging me to blog for a while now so here it is, about 1 month late. Oops.

Since the last post my parents came, we met up with them for dinner and also took them for high tea in Sloane Square for mums birthday. They were travelling with a bunch of friends so while Ryan and Nugen were driving all the way to Wales to see a Chelsea match, I was a tour leader taking the parents and friends to eat curry in brick lane (got totally wroughted!) and to the flower markets. We also did a Buckingham Palace tour which was interesting.

Meanwhile we had to move back to Whitechapel from jonnos and nugen slept on our floor and snored so loudly Ryan had to throw a shoe at him every night.

Not long after I got a job at loreal, it's a 3 month contract, but the work isn't exactly stimulating so we'll see how it pans out.

End of September saw us off to Munich for Oktoberfest with Ray and Sel. We wore costumes and everything. It was pretty cool seeing the huge tents and soaking up the atmosphere. There was lots of yummy food too, my fave being pork knuckle sandwich. But at about 7pm things start to get a bit trashy, so we bailed at 3pm the second day we went. But we caught the train into town and found this hidden German bar that was alive with singing and really joyful people, so we plonked our butts down for some dinner, chatted to people on our table and had a great night.

Then it was Katy and Jae's turn to visit, which was really fun. We even timed our trip to Paris perfectly with them. Ray and Sel kindly let us crash on their couch, and we travelled with them to Colmar and Strasbourg for 2 days. Colmar was really pretty, all the houses are different colours. The guide told us it was because the colours were used to classify who lived in the house, so yellow was for doctor. Had only 2 days in Paris but managed to surprise Katy for her birthday with a picnic at the Eiffel tower.

When we got back to London we had a final dinner with Katy and jae at a curry place in Whitechapel. It was tasty but soooooo spicy, I couldn't handle it.

It was then Guy Fawkes night on 5th November and there were parties everywhere. I went to see Eddie and Jennah, met their housemates because Ryan was working that night. But I had bought fireworks, so when Ryan finished work the two of us went to the park to set them off. It was so cold that night that we had such a hard time flicking the lighter on because our hands were stiff from the cold - and then we realised at the end they actually give you an incense so you don't need a lighter!!!!!! Rah. But it was so fun anyway! Especially when the firework shoots up and goes weeeeeeeeeee!

The next day we went to watch Arsenal v Tottenham for Ryan's birthday present. Decided to ride our bikes there, which turned out rather stressful but we made it - and it was pretty sweet and easy to leave afterwards. Unfortunately it was 1-1 but was still fun to watch and be amongst the atmosphere and crowd. We are gunning for a win at the next match we attend.

On Ryan's actual birthday we had a rather average poo day at work, but I surprised him with a cake and biltong so all was not lost.

The weekend after we hopped on a £8 flight to Toulouse and had an amazing time exploring and eating all over the city. We had the most delicious 3 course seafood lunch for only €19 pp. We were so happy and full. Only bad thing was I was in the middle of whooping cough so we didn't sleep for the whole trip. And didn't sleep for 3 days after the trip because I wouldn't stop coughing and it was getting ridiculous how much I was coughing.

And just yesterday we caught a train with city Victor and Yanan to Canterbury. It is a really charming little town, with so much history. We did a walking tour and then just chilled out with Kentish cream tea at Canterbury's most famous tea shop. Had amazing scones that crumbled in the mouth. Afterwards we just chilled, walked around the West gate park before deciding it was too cold so took shelter in a pub. Was a great day overall!
