We woke up around 8am and had a nice instant noodle breakfast with Hong Kong milk tea (Jackie's auntie's home made specialty). Then we set off around 9.30am and caught the MTR to Tung Chung. The ride to Tung Chung was quite relaxing, and we laughed about seeing the same scenery for the fourth time since arriving in HK as we'd been going back and forth from the airport. Once we arrived in Tung Chung, we headed into the giant outlet mall to grab some water bottles and snack, to be ready for our walk. After a little consultation with a map, we started our 16km hike in 30 degree heat. The first landmark was the Hau Wong Temple which had a waterfront lawn completely covered in black packing plastic. We then continued along a concreted path which ran along the side of Lantau Island but had few views of the ocean. However there were some lookout points that had amazing views of the mountains and ocean, as well as the huge road link that is being built all the way across to Macau. ...
