UK: Rolling Hills - Day 2

Woke up to the sound of people running around the backyard shouting; turns out the hurricane had brought down a tree onto a fence and all the animals has escaped. Chaos ensued. After a massive cooked English breakfast we left our accommodation and headed out aiming for central Cotswold. We took as round about way of getting there as possible, being constantly distracted and amazed at the beautiful English villages we passed through. Had lunch in Northleach at a pub (was rubbish) and had a walk around the town. It was freezing and drizzling and Jackie is sick so we didn't last long outside. From there we drove to Bourton-on-the-Water in Cheltenham where we had scones and tea (as obviously we had done so much exercise and been starved for food through the morning). At the information centre Jackie asked where we could go to see a castle and we were told Sudeley castle. A short drive later we arrived only to find last entrance was 3PM so we couldn't enter. UK: Wet Bath - Day 1

We only have 5 days for this trip but I thought it would be worth blogging just to keep track of where we've been. We started the day at 10.30 by picking up our Peugeot 107 from Europcar at Heathrow only to find it was absolutely tiny; so small that the boot couldn't event fit my suitcase (admittedly its absolutely stuffed full of clothes). Its only 150 AUD for the week so I guess we can deal with the small size. Amazingly we have managed to start our holiday just as hurricane St Jude is arriving in the south of the UK, so the 2 hour drive from Heathrow to Bath was particularly shit. After parking in central Bath, we braved the rain to try and explore a bit, found some market food for lunch and then checked out the Roman Baths. The Baths themselves weren't that amazing, but the idea of a Roman influenced town existing there since the first century is quite cool. We asked at the information centre where we could get a nice view of the town and the girl there recommended...
