Europe Trip Day 63: Podgorica

Our time in Montenegro is coming to an end, so we heading back to Podgorica where we will catch a train to Belgrade.
After breakfast and checking out of the hotel we walked down to the bus station for the next train to Podgorica. Turns out it leaves in two hours, so we sat down to wait. Jackie then realised she had left her earrings back in the hotel, so she ran back and luckily she found them on the floor.
The bus eventually rocked up and off we went, heading back through the beautiful rolling hills of the Balkan alps.
As we neared Pod the rain picked up, bucketing down on our bus. We arrived in Podgorica around 3, walking over to the train station to try and buy a ticket in what turned out to be a painless transaction. We leave at 10am tomorrow morning.
We didn't have a hotel booked so we tried one close to the station but they wanted 60 euro! We ended up finding one for 25 euro and walked over in about 10 minutes. Podgorica is quite spread out so this was quite convenient. We didn't have internet and when we rocked up to the address on the booking no one was there. After walking around I found a pub with WiFi and managed to call the owner on WhatsApp. 10 minutes later he rocked up and we were into our room.
I finished watching some football then we set off to explore Podgorica. There's not much to see! We saw the Old Ribnica River Bridge, then walked through downtown to the Spomenik Partizanu Borcu Park.

I was hoping for a view from the hill of the city but there were too many trees.

After that we walked back to town for a dinner of ribs, followed by a nutella peanut crepe. Back at the apartment, which us part of a big residential block, we are being inundated with cigarette smoke! They love to smoke here, inside and out of restaurants and buildings.
