We planned to kayak all day so had a filling brekky at the apartment before heading to the hostel. Hired a two person kayak for 20€ and set off from the beach downstairs.
The view could only be described as epic. Kotor is surrounded by huge mountains and every 2km or so there are clusters of houses and beaches. As we kayaked through the Bay, Ryan slowly lost his mind due to my kayaking skills. Nevertheless, we struggled on and had a few nice swims in the middle of Bay before stopping at Drazin Vrt beach for a little rest. We couldn't find any food there so got back in the kayak and paddled to Perast. By this time we were getting tired, and a little worried about how we'd go back. But after a nice lunch of kebabs, fish and coffee, we must have had a renewed sense of gung ho because we paddled even further out the Bay to these islands, one of which was the Our Lady Of The Rock. Did a paddle around then started the long slog back which literally killed us. We had to stop twice for a rest first at Perast, then at a beach in Donji Stoliv, because the wind had picked up and there were tourist boats moving in and out creating waves in their wake. When we finally got back to Kotor we went in for another dip before returning our kayak. We checked the map and we kayaked a minimum of 22km, because there's no way we went in a straight line. When we told the hostel guy where we kayaked to, even he was like wtf?! so far!??? Needless to say, Ryan and I were dead by the end. Didn't have a camera to take pictures so just grabbed some off Google.
