Europe Trip Day 57: Kotor

A quick walk down to the bus station after brekky and we were on our way to Kotor. After about an hour we arrived, being dropped a km from our accommodation, which is located in the old town. We walked through the old town to the reception, only to then walk 500 metres back from where we came for the actual room. It was worth it though as the room is so nice and very charming.
We immediately set off to walk around the town, which at around midday is filled with tourists who have been dumped there from cruise boats, or who have arrived on package tours. We ended up going north out of the town along the foreshore, walking for about 45 minutes before the heat got to us and we had to take shelter. We found a local cafe and had a sandwich and coke each, feeling a lot more refreshed.

We continued on our walking journey, heading away from town along the water.

We had seen a number of kayaks and decided this would be the way to travel. We asked at a random hostel that we passed how much it would be, but they were all out of two person ones. We decide to skip it for today until tomorrow morning. The hostel people were very insistent that we come back in the night at 9pm for drinking games though...
We hit the local pebble beach for some sun and a quick dip, then walked back to our accommodation. We spent an hour or so there, then wandered off to explore the old town some more. In the middle of this exploration the heavens opened up with a thundering downpour, but luckily it didn't last too long. We kept walking around for an hour or so, then headed off for dinner back out of the main tourists area, enjoying the sunset as we walked.

We almost went back to the hostel for drinks, but seeing all the really young people in one of the other hostels drinking put us off. We are so old. Plus our bedtime is the time they were starting.
