Europe Trip Day 9: Last Day In Israel

Jimmy didn't get home til 5am from his wedding and there was construction outside all night, so we all didn't get a great nights sleep. Still, we woke up around 7.30am, ate brekky and headed for the beach for a quick dip. The water was soooo nice, at first a little chilly but then Ryan and I were happily floating around in it. Afterwards Jimmy wanted a pair of sunnies so we walked over to the Flea Markets and he bargained terribly for a pair of sunnies. The guy said 50, Jimmy said 30, and immediately the guy is like OK. Haha so Jim knew he got ripped off. We then headed home to pack and Jimmy left first to transfer his stuff to Phil's. Ryan and I stayed back a bit before going to find lunch at McDonald's (so expensive - $15aud for a meal) and shwarma at the Express place. It was time to leave for the airport around midday so went back for our bags and caught the bus and train to the airport, before finding out how crazy Israel is with their airport security.
First we had to go through a security guy who asked us where we stayed, why we stayed and where we were going and what relationship we had with each other. We got yellow stickers on our bags which indicated what level of threat we were ( its 1-6, we got 2, 6 is highest) Then we checked it, got our boarding passes, then took our bags to oversize luggage, and then went through second security scan and passport control.
All done and dusted we headed to the gate, and luckily I looked up when we were sitting down that the gate was boarding because they don't announce it in English, so we hurried to board. The flight was under 2 hours, and we were so excited because we got the exit row so heaps of leg room. Once we arrived in Istanbul we hopped on the Havatas shuttle and went to our apartment in Taksim. It took agesssss, about 2 hours because traffic was so bad, so as soon as we got off we dropped our bags and searched for food. Went to this delicious dinner that the hotel guy recommended. It was so yummy, it served homemade style food, so we had chicken with rice, mash potato, chicken drumstick and salad. It had been an exhausting day of travel so we went back and crashed into bed... Until Jimmy woke us up at 1.30am
