Day 85, 86, 87, 88, 89

So Monday dawned bright and sunny, off to Tyrepower we got for a repair (hopefully). Dropped the tyre off and then drove over to the civic centre where I waited in a line for an hour so I could vote (they are all rubbish), then over to the post office where hopefully my rego sticker would be waiting. The guy behind the counter said there was no mail for me and I was just about to have my mail redirected to Perth when he said 'hold on let me check again' and what do you know there it is. That done back to Tyrepower and the guy says it's been repaired but because it's a bad puncture and it's on the edge of the tyre I should use it at as a spare and that after 6months
the steel reinforcements inside the wheel will start to rust and it becomes a throw away item. Yay. More money to be spent, but at least we are on the road again. We headed south and camped by the side of the road again. The weather had turned nasty with lots of heavy rain
but thankfully held off while we had dinner huddled at the back of the car. The next morning it was still overcast and as we drove towards Shark Bay the rain started again. We arrived at Denham and did the only thing sensible in the rain; drink coffee. We bought passes for the next morning to visit Monkey Mia, the famous spot where the dolphins come in to be fed, and then booked a free campsite at Eagles Bluff about 20km south. Did one walk at Monkey Mia as the weather was clearing up again and then chilled out at our campsite. The next morning we were up at 6.30 to make back to Monkey Mia in time; the dolphins were cool and all but it's a really touristy place. We spent the day looking at various beaches and lookouts, visited the stromatolites (mindblowing), and did some driving. The weather was nice and sunny so it was a nice enjoyable day. That evening we headed towards Kalbarri and camped by the side of the road somewhere. The next morning we drove the rest of the way to Kalbarri, stopping in Kalbarri NP to check out two lookouts. Spent the night in a caravan park in Kalbarri and then headed back to Kalbarri NP to check out another two lookouts and then do an 8k walk (lots of Kalbarri). We were hoping to not spend another night in Kalbarri as the caravan parks were all very expensive so we set off towards the Hutt River Province. This is the place where a farmer seceded land from the commonwealth in the 70's when they tried to impose a wheat quota on him. His honourable royal highness prince leopard met us at his government office and gave us a royal tour. He's a real larrakin and you're never sure what to believe in all his stories. His property and
the whole area in general is beautfiul with rolling hills and everything green from the witner rains. Camped the night there (it was freezing), then in the morning drove to Geraldton. Got some internet, food and fuel and then headed off south towards Perth. We are now stopped by the side of the road and I just managed to lock the keys in the car so tomorrow morning should be fun...
