Sorry for the sporadic blogging but my phone was swamped by an enormous wave at the 12 apostles and is now in a semi functioning state.
After my last update at Cape Ottway the three of us trialed three men in a two man tent and found it to be a rather intimate experience. Lots of spooning especially for the man in the middle. After our sordid nights sleep we headed back along the GOR, winding our way to the the first of the 12 apostles. The weather had been pretty poor since Melbourne and the apostles was no different; heavily overcast and sprinkling rain making photography a bitch. Even with the poor weather there were tourists aplenty (the worst kind of tourists, tour bus tourists... Yay for being a snobby tourist).
We drove past the first apostles to somewhere near port Campbell where we walked down a path to some low rocks next to the beach to check out the enormous waves rolling in. After standing there for 15 minutes watching the spray from the breaking waves fall infront of us a monster wave broke perfectly to throw a wall or water all over the three of us. Toms camera is now non functioning, and my phone, even being sheltered in my pocket, is now half working. Soaked and molified by the sea we walked back to the carpark to get changed. Our shoes were very squelchy so we tried tying them to the roof rack but all that did was make it rain so the shoes came back inside to sit at or feat while the heater ran full blast. We made it to Warrnambool and a caravan park where we atleast could have a shower and use some hot running water. The rain since that afternoon had persisted and we were having trouble drying anything but at least we were heading north to Grampians National Park where we hoped for some dry weather.

When we arrived in the park it was overcast but atleast dry so we signed up for a discovery tour of boomerang throwing (who doesn't like throwing things), bush tucker eating, didgeridoo playing and aboriginal culture watching. After failed attempts at aboriginal huntig and music we drove into the park to check out the balconies, the aboriginal art and the 4wd tracks. Everything was enjoyable despite the rain except for the 4wd track which just consisted of driving over endless bumpy and rock strewn roads. After two nights in the park we headed back towards the coast to Mt Gambier to look at the Blue Lake and to have a shower (even more needed with three people in the tent). Today we are driving from Mt Gambier to somewhere near Kangaroo Island where hopeully the sun does shine. Clocked over 6000 km already!
